What We
Believe

As followers of Jesus, there are certain core beliefs which we hold to be completely trustworthy. In fact, we live by them. These principles, that mean so very much to us, come straight out of the Bible. Here's a "Reader's Digest" version of what we believe. Please read them over, and if you are interested, it would be great to chat with you about them.

The Mission

The Vision

The mission of North Coast Family Fellowship is to
Love Jesus, Love People, and Love People to Jesus.
We want to see people come to faith in Christ,
and grow in faithfulness to Christ.

CORE BELIEFS

The Bible

It's called the Word of God because the Old and New Testaments are God's communication to all people. It is completely true. The key to experiencing
the magnificence of God and life at its best is to learn and live by the principles found in the Bible.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 - All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is right and wrong in life. It can straighten
us out by teaching us how to live God's way. It prepares, equips, and enables us to do the good things God designed us to accomplish.

Psalm 119:105 - God's Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Jeremiah 15:16 - When I discovered Your words, I devoured them. They are my joy and my heart's delight.

God

No way is God dead or irrelevant. Rather, God is the loving Creator and the Sustainer of all things. Amazingly, He lives eternally and uniquely as the Trinity.
Specifically, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit ... three in one. All three Persons of the Trinity are equal in every manner. Now, is this difficult to understand? Absolutely.
In fact, we can't really fully comprehend this concept of how God exists though we definitely believe it is true. But think about, if we could understand
everything about God with our limited abilities then that would mean He really isn't all that great. On the contrary, our God is an awesome God!

Matthew 28:19 - the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
2 Corinthians 13:14 - the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit ...
Psalm 89:7 - The highest angelic powers stand in awe of God. He is far more awesome than any around His throne.

Jesus Christ

There is no one like Jesus. He has always existed as God in Heaven. Then 2000 years ago He came to Earth, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin named Mary. Merry Christmas!
Jesus is miraculously and uniquely, fully God and fully human. He lived, was crucified and rose eternally alive from the dead. Happy Easter!

Philippians 2:6-7 - He (Jesus) existed in the form of  God and was made in the likeness of men.
1 Timothy 1:17 - Now to the King (Jesus) eternal, immortal, invisible, the
only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

You & Me

God created all men and women to be in a perfect relationship of love with Himself and to enjoy forever the blessings that only He is capable of giving.
He wants us to worship Him alone as Almighty God. We believe in the sanctity of all human life because the Bible says we are created in the image of God.
Tragically, because of the sin and evil in our lives, we've separated ourselves from God and all that He offers us.

Genesis 1:27 - God created man in His own image. Male and female He created them.
Isaiah 59:2 - Your iniquities have made a separation between you and God. Your sins have hidden His face from you.

Wow! That's shocking. But keep reading, because there's some great news you need to hear ...

Getting Back Together with God

Jesus came to heal the broken relationship between God and us. He died on the cross as the perfect payment for all our sin. He physically rose from the dead to prove
He has the power and authority to give eternal life to all who follow Him. When we prayerfully place our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and surrender to Him as
God and Savior, then we are (as the Bible puts it) born again. From that point on life becomes a journey with Jesus. He determines our beliefs and
behaviors as we follow Him on the path of faith. The more closely we follow Him, the more we experience His blessings.

John 14:6 - Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me."
Acts 16:31 - Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved.
John 11:25-26 - Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me will live even if they die. Do you believe this?"

The Holy Spirit

When we surrender to Jesus, the Holy Spirit immediately enters our lives and partners with us. The Spirit ensures that we are never separated from God again.
The Spirit provides all the guidance and resources we need to grow spiritually by following Jesus faithfully.

Ephesians 1:13 - When you believed in Christ, He identified you as His own by giving you the Holy Spirit.
Romans 5:5 - The love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
John 16:13 - The Spirit of truth will guide you into all the truth.

Human Sexuality and Marriage

The human race was created in the image of God. God created us as male and female to reflect His image. God ordained that marriage be only between a man and a woman.
Marriage is the only proper place for the expression of sexual oneness between human beings. As this relates to LBGTQ, we love all people and desire that everyone
would come to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior and God, regardless of their beliefs relating to these issues of human sexuality. At the same time, NCFF
believes that the LBGTQ lifestyle is contrary to God’s will for our lives, as are heterosexual practices such as ... fornication, adultery, pornography, etc.

Genesis 1:27 - God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
Genesis 2:24 - A man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.

Acts 15:29 - Don't be involved with sexual sin. If you stay away from these, you will do well.

The Church

When we choose to follow Jesus, we become part of His Church. The Bible tells us that, in the very big sense, the Church is made up of all Christians everywhere. The
Bible also says we are to enter into the community relationship of a church. In other words, a local gathering of believers found in millions of different places
around the world. Within these localized church gatherings of community we learn to love Jesus, to love others, and to love others to Jesus.

Two really special things that Jesus asked His followers to do are baptism and communion. Baptism is when we immerse new believers in water as we invoke the Name
of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This action symbolizes the death of our old sinful life and the reality of our new redeemed life in Christ. Communion
(the bread and the cup) is our way of commemorating the incredible sacrifice of Jesus dying on our behalf, to pay the penalty of our sin.
It demonstrates our belief in His promise that we will one day be united with Him in Heaven forever.

Matthew 16:18 - Jesus said, "I will build My church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it."
Matthew 28:19-20 - Jesus taught, "Make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of

the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you."
1 Corinthians 11:23-25 - The Lord Jesus broke some bread into pieces, took a cup and said, "This is my body, which is given for you.
Eat this in remembrance of Me. This cup is the new covenant between God and His people, confirmed with my blood. Drink this in remembrance of Me."

The Future

Just like He physically came the first time, so Jesus will return a second time to establish the Kingdom of God on Earth. This kingdom will last for a thousand years, culminating in a whole New Creation referred to in the Bible as the New Heavens and the New Earth. Jesus has an amazing plan in place! And on a very personal level, that plan  includes physically resurrecting every individual who has ever lived. Those who have not turned to God by surrendering to Jesus in this life will be forever without God. This is Hell. In contrast, those who have turned to God by surrendering to Jesus in this life will be forever with God. This is Heaven. God gives every
individual the opportunity to choose to follow Jesus or not to follow Jesus. It is His utmost desire that every single person would choose to place their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as their God and Savior.

Isaiah 42:9 - The Lord declares, "Everything I prophesy comes true. I will tell you in the future before it happens."
2 Peter 3:9 - The Lord isn't really being slow about His promise to return, as some people think. No, He is being patient for

your sake. He does not want
anyone to perish, so He is giving more time for everyone to repent.
