10.9.21 E-Blast

October 9th, 2021
Happy Saturday NCFF!

Over 3,000 years ago, King David of Israel wrote these words: I was glad when they said to me, "Let us go to the house of the Lord." (Psalms 122:1). Take a closer look at this verse with me.

The “I” and the “me” in this Psalm is King David, but it could also be you or me in the context of our own lifetime. The word “glad” means to experience glee! Who are the “they?” We don’t know their names, but we do know that they were people who were in relationship with David as his friends. And what where they inviting David to do? To join with them in doing the most important thing in life! To go with them to the “house of the Lord” where together they would worship Jehovah God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength! As busy and as important as David was, nothing mattered more to this king than to keep THE KING as his highest priority. He also realized that if he did so, life would be a joyful affair, no matter the circumstances.

This is a great lesson for you and me. In these days of prosperity mixed with pandemic,  wealth mingled with worry, affluence intertwined with anxiety, we most definitely need to personally keep THE KING as our highest priority. When we do, our lives will become far more joyful affairs also, no matter the circumstances. So, I ask you, are you ordering the schedule and agenda of your life to reflect KING JESUS as the true priority of your life? You’ll never regret it if you do. And just being honest with you, you’ll regret the times that you don’t.

This is why I invite you to join me, and many other friends, tomorrow, to gather (either online or here on campus) at NCFF (our “house of the Lord”) to prioritize the Name of Almighty God in worship and adoration. Marc Hagman (Executive Director at Cannon Beach Christian Conference Center) will be teaching God’s truth to us. Also, Marc and his family are part of our church family. He will be sharing from 1 Samuel 7:15-8:3. Pastor Paul will be leading us in musical praise to God. Together we’ll have the opportunity to experience the “glad” that the Holy Spirit provides to those who enter together into the house of the Lord seeking to lift up Jesus.

I want to remind you that this coming Monday, October 11, from 6:00 – 7:30 pm, NCFF will be hosting an appreciation dessert for Mike & Eva Hague as Mike concludes his service on our ministry staff. I would like to encourage you to participate in a love offering for Mike & Eva, as a way to express your appreciation to them. You can designate a gift through our Sunday morning offering, online, or Monday night. Checks should be made out to North Coast Family Fellowship. If you give them a card and desire a tax receipt, please keep the card and check separate.

We will see you tomorrow. Luv ya lots!

Pastor John K. Nagle
