Happy Saturday NCFF …

Do you know what a benefactor is? The dictionary defines a benefactor as someone that provides help to another person or gives that individual an advantage that makes his life better. It is an individual that confers blessings, on others, wherever he goes.

This past week, family, friends, NCFF, and the whole North Coast of Oregon said goodbye to a blessed benefactor. I’m speaking of Forrest Koch, who went to be with Jesus in Heaven. I am so happy for Forrest that he is with Christ in Paradise. Equally so, I’m so sad for all of us who will miss him very, very much.

Forrest was a family man who was beloved by his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a patriot who nearly lost his life serving our country in Vietnam. He was a business person who people sought out for his skills, while he sought them out to share Jesus. He was an elder in our church who walked closely with Jesus, led Bible studies, prayed with passion, counseled with godly wisdom, provided financial oversight to NCFF, witnessed for Christ every single day, and encouraged this pastor more times than I could ever remember. Forrest was a benefactor in every sense of the word. No, he wasn’t perfect by any stretch. But he was a man after God’s own heart. Thank you, Jesus, for a man like Forrest! Well done, good and faithful servant of God. Enter into the joy of your master. (Matthew 25:21). Services for Forrest will be in late October or early November. We’ll keep you posted.

Sunday, we will be gathering together to worship the Lord Jesus and study His Word. We recently completed studying 1 & 2 John. Perhaps you’ll recall, both of these small Bible books repeatedly talk about this character called Antichrist. The question is: Who is this guy? Well, he is one the most often mentioned people in the Bible. His influence is something you are dealing with every day, though you may not even realize it. He will be the most evil person to ever walk this planet and one of the most irresistible. Antichrist is the coming “one world order” ruler and there is stuff about him that we have to know in order to follow Jesus, wholeheartedly, in our present context. So, we will look ahead in time, through the lens of God’s Prophetic Word, to learn what we “gotta know about Antichrist.” You see, who he is, what he does, and how he meets his end, is all a part of God’s ultimate plan for us individually, and for Creation as a whole. And by the way, this sort of study in Bible prophecy, it is the kind of thing that Forrest loved. 😊

Also, as a reminder, this Sunday will be Pastor Mike’s last Sunday with us as part of the NCFF staff. Please reference the email I sent to you earlier this week for more info. We will be briefly honoring him and Eva at the close of our worship time.  We are also planning a farewell evening of appreciation on Monday, October 11. If you would like to donate to a monetary “love gift” for pastor Mike & Eva, you may do so between now and October 11.

Hope you’ll join with us tomorrow. Luv ya!

Pastor John K. Nagle
