5.22.21 Saturday Eblast

Happy Saturday NCFF …
Here’s your test question for the day 😊: What is the second most important truth of the Christian life? I shared the Scripture’s answer to this question in last Sunday’s message. Do you recall what was said?

The 1st most important truth of the Christian life is to surrender your life to the Lord Jesus Christ as your God and Savior. We do this, as a step of faith, by … believing that Jesus is God … believing that Jesus can forgive all your sins … believing that Jesus can transform your earthly life and will give you eternal life. But believing is not enough. To become a Christian, we have to ask Jesus to be and do all these things for us as we place our lives in His hands.

The 2nd most important truth of the Christian life is to surrender, moment-by-moment, to the ongoing leadership of the Holy Spirit over every area of our lives. The Apostle Paul put it this way, Be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18). The Greek word translated “filled” is πληρόω. This particular term means several things. It means to give over control of all the nuances of your life to the Holy Spirit. It means to do this “giving over” on a regular, repeated basis. In other words, to make it your habit to constantly ask the Holy Spirit to be in charge of your attitudes, your actions, your anticipations, your accomplishments and achievements.

Here’s the truth: You can only become a Christian by giving your life to Jesus as your God and Savior, and you can only grow as a Christian by constantly giving control of your life to the Holy Spirit. So, have you been having that conversation with the Holy Spirit faithfully? When you do, your Christian life becomes a blessing. Quite honestly, when you don’t, your Christian life becomes a burden. When you do, your walk with Jesus grows sweeter. When you don’t, your walk with Jesus becomes stagnant. When you do, your relationship with God grows deeper. When you don’t, your relationship with God becomes shallow.

I invite you to join us tomorrow at NCFF as we continue our current Bible teaching series called ROOTED. I’ll be sharing Part 2 of the message entitled, HOW TO MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR LIFE. Between the worship, the fellowship, the teaching of God’s Word and the presence of God – we’ve got quite a treat in store for all who are part of this precious time.

This past week, several who have not been attending NCFF in person because of COVID returned for the first time in over a year. Their feedback was that NCFF online is good, but being at church in person was so much better. I want to encourage you, if at all possible, re-engage in person with your church family. We all truly want to see you and yours face-to-face. There’s no place like home. Luv ya …
