3.20.21 Saturday Eblast

Happy Saturday NCFF …

True story. Two sisters growing up in a home where Jesus wasn’t the focus. On their own personal journeys, they each discover the Gospel story and encounter the agápē love of the Heavenly Father. Then, in different places and at different times, they each surrender their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior and God. Immediately, the Holy Spirit begins the transformation process in their souls that only the Spirit can do. As a part of their spiritual growth, they both start praying for their earthly father’s salvation. One sister prays for 40 years that their dad will come to faith in Christ. The other prays for over 30 years.

Then a phone call comes. It is powerfully good news about the power of the Good News! Their father, this one for whom they have prayed for decades, has come to given faith in Christ and has been baptized as a Christian. Tears of joy. Hugs all around. A walk on the beach singing aloud praise to God. How did this happen? It is because Jesus is the REAL DEAL. The two sisters knew that. They believed that. They faithfully prayed in response to that. The result was that Jesus became the BIG DEAL in this man’s life!

The Sunday right after Easter, April 11, NCFF is beginning a new ministry for anyone wanting to know more of Jesus as the BIG DEAL and experience Him more as the REAL DEAL. We call it, ROOTED. Specifically, ROOTED is 10-week small group experience of discipleship in community. The whole goal of this spiritual journey is to help all of us become stronger disciples of Christ as we become more “in community” with each other. Together, we’ll learn to practice “7 Rhythms” for spiritual growth (laid out in the Bible), which will remind us that Jesus genuinely is the BIG DEAL and how He can become more of the REAL DEAL we all need Him to be in our lives. Before and after each of tomorrow’s worship gatherings, we’ll be taking sign-ups for the groups. I want to encourage you to step out in faith and join a group. I believe that this is a wonderful opportunity for you to also encounter powerfully good news about the power of the Good News!

We’ll be studying 1 John 5:6-15 tomorrow. Read it over and come “prayed up” as you join us on campus or online. Luv ya lots …
